I think I am one of the few people who up until very recently did not have a Boots advantage card. I don’t know why I didn’t get one … well, actually, I do. In relative terms I don ‘t or didn’t really buy many beauty products in Boots. The occasional few packets of cotton wool or I randomly get my photos printed there but it is occasionally and I tended to pass the receipt on to a friend to get the points. This product however is the one the got me to take out my very own Advantage Card.
The product was worth it even though the box was a bit battered and was supplied with a muslin cloth. The name of this product is very misleading. It fails to mention that it is an exfoliating balm with very fine grains which are smooth when massaged into the skin . The balm has quite a runny consistency, which initially I found quite strange, but I am used to it now. Having a runny liquid in a jar is a bit irritating. I would have preferred some kind of pump dispenser because pouring it into the hand is not an option – you end up with way to much product, and using a spatula is not an option as it is too flat, so the product runs off it. I use a plastic spoon as the alternative – dipping fingers into the pot repeatedly is not an option for me.
I am sure that this product can remove makeup but I use Bioderma and then this balm. The yellow colour sets off the gold trim of the jar nicely. This balm smells lovely. It is definitely worth inhaling deeply the lavender, bergamot, rosemary and peppermint blend before massaging onto the skin. The fragrance does not diminish during the course of massaging it onto the face but it not overpowering. Avocado oil is one of my favourite skincare oils and the most abundant oil in this product. This product is rich, but quite light to use, it has plenty of slip and is a lovely luxurious treat before bed. The effect on the skin as well as cleansing is super moisturising without being greasy. I love this product. I use is once a week followed by Liquid Gold and the following day my skin is smooth and plump. It is a real pleasure to use this product and definitely worth getting an Advantage Card for!
