Luscious Lips: Trish McEvoy’s Beauty Booster SPF 15 Lip Gloss (Pretty Pink)

Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster

I have to admit, over the last year or so, I have been much more of a lipstick  rather than a lip gloss wearer, with a big focus on balms to keep my lips moisturised, but sometimes, it is nice to have a lip gloss which does not scream  shiny lip gloss, but rather, enhances what you have.

In the packaging, this product is a pretty warm pink with some shimmer and this is translated to the lips.   The lovely thing about this lip gloss is that the shimmer is very very subtle so I don’t look like a twelve year old who has thrown a bowl of sequins at my face.  It is a grown up, subtle shimmer which catches the light.  Lovely.  I am a fan of hoof applicator which this has as it makes application easy, less precise but easy.  When I am looking for a precise application I squeeze some onto the back of my hand and use a lip brush, but this is a very easy product to wear so I generally apply it straight from the hoof.

There is quite a strong peppermint fragrance with this product… which worried me at first, but when it is applied to the lips, it is not so strong and whilst there is a bit of tingly sensation, it wears of very quickly, it is not unbearable (like Bare Minerals Buxom Lipglosses) and most importantly, it does not taste of peppermint.  On pigmented lips like mine mot much  colour is deposited, which means that it can be applied in a quick slick for a sheen or placed over lip colour and I’ve even used it over lip balm.  It is not the fanciest  gloss in my make up bag, but it is one that I reach for time and time again.
