Sixty Seconds with… Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer

Pixi Primer

Despite wearing a full face of make up five days a week, I don’t wear a primer.  I don’t think that I need to, carrying out my morning skincare routine, my face is smooth enough for make up and the formulations generally last all day so, this was and an interesting product for me to test.

Pixi Primer 1

When I put it on the back of my hand my reaction was ‘oh dear’. The peachy pink colour did not make me feel confident, but… does not leave a white film on the skin.  That said, having used a serum, and a moisturiser underneath it, I did feel that I had a bit more of a sheen then I would have liked, despite the colour.  left me a bit greasier then normal.

Pixi Primer 2

The picture of the primer rubbed into my hand does show gold flecks which I think the brand would call the luminosity.  To be honest I did not see this under NARS Sheer Glow or Black Opal Stick foundations.  It said on the packet that you could use it over make up… errrr, not over Sheer Glow. My make up did last all day when I wore it… but it tends to without it.

1-Pixi Primer 3

I think that if you have a full coverage foundation that you wanted to turn into a tinted moisturiser, adding a small amount of this primer would work well, but it has not convinced me that a face primer is necessary for flawless or long-lasting make up application.
