The colour for July is Greensmoke.
It is a lustre that looks nice in the pan but is amazing on the skin. Especially in the glorious sunshine that we have been experiencing. The lustre finish is MAC’s shimmer finish so there will be a bit of fall out but it is not lots, and definitely not enough to stop you using it.
MAC are famous for their shadows for lots of reasons, for the colour range, the staying power but the reason that I love MAC shadows is the complexity of the shades and Greensmoke is an excellent example of this. The gold undertone and shimmer is consistent so it works well with metallic shades. Straight onto the skin, it is a beautiful shimmery green/gold (middle swatch). It is also great as a super light wash of colour (apply with a fluffy blending brush) for quick low make up look. Add a deep green base like Bobbi Brown’s Ivy eyeliner, and it retains the golden hue but with the depth of the cream base (bottom swatch). My favourite way to wear it however is with a slightly damp brush, not only does this reduce the fall out but it intensifies olive tones in the shade (top swatch).
I have serious love for this colour.
