Jane Scrivner Skin Elixir

Jane Scrivner Skin Elixir

Recently, I waxed lyrical on this blog about the Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser.  I am still using and loving it and a few weeks back the Jane Scrivner team gave me the opportunity to try the Skin Elixir (thanks Jess!) Jane Scrivner Elixir

The Skin Elixir is a face oil that is used at the moisturiser stage ie after toner / serum.   So, this is the last stage before make up.  But it’s and oil?!  Yes, I know – but trust me, it works.  I am prone to heavy handedness so of course the first couple of times I used WAY too much.  After a few days however, I became accustomed (and surprised) to using one pump  (sometimes two)depending on my skin’s needs.  A little goes a very long way – my two phials lasted a little under four weeks.

The Skin Elixir like the Nourishing Cleanser this is a certified organic jojoba oil base with the same nine organic skin loving oils  as the Nourishing Cleanser has in it – Ylang Ylang, Elemi, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Lemongrass, Lavender, Myrrh, Sandalwood and Sweet Orange  Interestingly, I find the Ylang Ylang is still the strongest note in the blend but the Sweet Orange comes through more strongly in the Elixir.   Unlike the Nourishing Cleanser however, it is a liquid rather than a balm at all times. Jane Scrivner skin Elixir 1 PatentPurpleLife

If you are afraid of a face oil don’t be. The instructions state to use this where your skin needs it.  This absorbs into the skin beautifully, and magically lets you know where you have applied too much.  Rather than missing out parts of your face, I rub one drop of the Skin Elixir between my finger tips and gently tap my fingers across my face.  As I start to press the oil into my skin, I find that I am spending more time on my forehead and the right side of my face (where I have caught of a bit sun whilst driving) and less time in my T-Zone.  Pressing an oil into my skin is a bit of a new technique for me, (rubbing the oil in works equally well I found) but as you have rubbed the oil between your fingertips, there is plenty of product on your fingers to press in.  It does work and is definitely worth a try. My neck has also let me know that it has been a bit parched.  I love the fact that I am able to customise application to my skins needs.

That said, I have also used this in my usual heavy handed way.  In a relaxing bath for a bit of face massage.  Lovely.  I also used it to remove make up.  Yes I know that is what the Nourishing Cleanser was for… but I needed to test it – and of course it worked beautifully.  I have been using it over Hydraluron and it does not make the serum roll or left my skin super greasy.  I have even used it over an Aromessence.  Left my face a bit greasier then I would have liked, but it all absorbed after about fifteen minutes.   Currently I am using it under the  Iman BB Crème and it is lovely.

So I am waxing lyrical again about another Jane Scrivner product because it is a real pleasure to use.  If you are looking for a no fuss routine, Jane’s range is a great option because the ingredients adapt to your needs without you having to think about it but more importantly they are effective and the bonus is that they are a real pleasure to use. Jane Scrivner Skin Elixir
