Batting My Lashes: Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara

Ok ok, so the title of this mascara is REALLY long, but bear with me because this is a great mascara. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara (7)

Elizabeth Arden has a soft spot in my heart because Red Door was one of the first fragrances that I ever wore and Eight Hour Cream one of the first high end repeat purchases I ever made (before I worked out that my skin hates mineral oil).  Every couple of years or so I go back to this range but this is the first mascara that I have ever tried from the range.

The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide range is based around  ceramide component of cells.  They are a type of fat and they attract moisture.  The reason that they are important in skincare is because healthy skin is hydrated skin.  So, having a range of skincare based around ceramides makes sense… but a mascara?

So the ceramides help to keep the lashes hydrated and an additional protein complex added to the formula which helps to lengthen the lashes.  Lashes like the hair on your head needs a careful balance of hydration and protein to be healthy and promote growth.

The packaging is a yellow gold, very sleek and does not feel plastic in the hand.   The brush has a rounded end and has defined spirals of bristles which help to separate the lashes. Despite the wand not being super thin at the end, you can get into the shorter lashes in the inner eye.  It has a typical mascara smell it is not over powering or offensive.

This is a gorgeous mascara.  With the first coat, you will separate and lengthen the lashes.  This is not a false lash effect mascara, this is a your lashes but longer effect, which I really love because it is much more natural.   On close inspection it looks like the formula has fibres in it.  The formula does not irritate my eyes at all and is not too wet (thank crunchie) which means that it dries quite quickly and they don’t dry crispy which, again, I love.  The formula does not clump and it does not make the lashes curl.  The formula is definitely lengthening, I cannot vouch for the treatment element as I have been using Prevage the whole time I have been using it so I will put my longer lashes down to that.  I have been really pleasantly surprised by this formula.  This is a very good mascara.
