Be A Bombshell: The One Stick (Buckwild)

Buck Wild The One Stick

One of my favourite items from the February Wantable Box is the Be A Bombshell The One Stick.

Buck Wild

Be a Bombshell is a new American (started in 2011) brand who do not ship outside of the UK so I would not have been able to try this brand without subscribing to Wantable.  The brand started out of a love of  that the market was not fulfilling and Tonya Thompson who had worked in product development decided to create what she could not find.  The range consists of colour cosmetics (no complexion products) and has a beauty club too.  If you sign up for the club, you will be a personalised beauty look which their beauty consultants recommend (with no obligation to buy).

The One Stick is the same concept as the NARS multiple.  A product that can be used on the eyes lips and cheeks.  BuckWild is described as copper with shimmer gold undertones.  I always think of copper as having an orangey tone and me, this is more of a pale gold colour.  I have not used it on my lips but I use it regularly as a highlighter on the top of my cheeks and on my brow bone. Application is really easy – for my cheeks I just draw a line and blend it out with my fingers.  I use the edge of the stick to apply it under my brows and a small brush for the inner tear duct area.

The texture is lovely – very smooth on the skin with not gritty shimmery bits.  As you blend it out you can see the gold sparkle but it keeps a bloom of iridescence on the skin.  It is very buildable so you can make it heavy or light.  For me, as I usually wear a stick foundation, the texture is perfect as it blends beautifully with my foundation rather then sitting on top of my skin.

The packaging is very similar to a stick foundation – remove the lid and the product is pushed up the tube but turning the bottom section.  The Be A Bombshell logo is on the bottom of the tube and the lid clicks onto the top.

Just over seven grams of product is plenty for a highlighter and will last for ages.  It costs sixteen dollars (just over nine pounds) which I think is reasonable.  This product contains mineral oil, parabens and titanium dioxide so if you are trying to avoid these products, this highlighter is not for you. If subscribe to a beauty box you may get a Bombshell product in it otherwise you will have to ask a friend or relative across the pond to send it to you!
