I was fortunate to attend the GOSH SS14 launch last month and have had a chance to trial the Forever Eyeshadow Sticks pretty extensively
02 Beige – the lightest of the shades. On my skin it registers as lightly gold colour. On the lids you really have to build it up to get the the opaque colour that I got from the swatch. It is quite bright on the eye so I use it as an inner eye highlight rather then a whole lid colour.
03 Light Copper – light copper is a light bronze colour very flattering on the eye but I also wear it with the beige colour
04 Brown – my favourite of the bunch. It is silver sparkle over the metallic brown . It is a lovely neutral brown, not too red/orange, and the perfect neutral with a twist shade for me. For me this is an every day shade.
05 Grey – This is a gorgeous grey, which I have been using as a base for a smokey eye. my second favourite of the bunch. I can just wear it as a wash of colour. As much as I love eyeliner and it looks beautiful with it -it not a requirement with this look. Just add lashings of lashes.
There has been a whole heap of hoopla about chubby sticks and the like and I am not going to rehash that, but I will say this. If you are looking for:
- colour that is easy to apply (apply directly or use a brush to blend it out)
- colour that lasts for as many hours as you want it on for (after 16 hours they still look fabulous)
- smooth texture (the glitter particles do not scratch the eyelid at all)
Then you really need to head to your local Superdrug and check out the GOSH Forever Shadow Sticks. The texture is very smooth, you get a couple of minutes to blend the colour out before it dries. They work well together or, if you are quick with power shadow over the top.
These shadow sticks have a screw up pencil so there is no need to sharpen them as they screw up, but you may want to sharpen the nib if you use it at a ninety degree angle on your eyes and end up creating a flat edge. For eyeliner looks I have used a push liner brush and applied a thin line close to the lashes rather then applying directly from the shadow stick.
They have some great colours in the range – I tried the green at the launch and it was just beautiful. They also have a purple which I will be purchasing when my local Superdrug decides to stock it (hint hint).
GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Sticks are available exclusively from Superdrug and retail for £5.99
