Tools of the Trade: Elizabeth Arden Powder Brush

Elizabeth Arden Powder brush

Brushes are a really important part of your beauty regime and there are lots of brushes on the market.  There are the pro brushes, the designed by an MUA brushes, the  expensive Japanese ones. synthetic, real hair, and duo fibre to name but a few.  There are companies that only make brushes, companies that started with brushes and them moved into make up and vice versa.

Elizabeth Arden Face Brush

A good brush should make your make up application much easier and the finished result flawless and when you find a brush like this, you use it ALLLLLLLL the time.

Elizabeth Arden Powder Brush

If you asked me to name a cosmetics company with a really good brush range, I have to be honest – I would not just to Elizabeth Arden… but… their powder brush is AH-MAAAAAZE-ING.  The brush is weighty without being heavy.  It has a flat bottom so you can stand up on your dressing table on in your bathroom.  The handle is quite short – not much longer then my fist but it is really comfortable in the hand with a brushed gold tone metal ferrule.

The brush is synthetic so it works best with powder.  The bristles are cut at an angle so it glides over the contours of your face with ease but the best thing about this brush is that is is soooooooooooooo soft.  Really soft.  Even when you first take it out of the packet.  It is not one of those brushes that softens with use.  It is a real pleasure to use and I find that I am swiping it across my face even when my make up application is completed.

Elizabeth Arden Mini Kabuki Brush

I have been using it with my NARS powder foundation and with my Tarte blusher and it works well with both of them. The diameter of the brush is quite large so it makes blush application very quick and because the brush is densely packed with bristles you get a diffused look on the skin.

Elizabeth Arden Mini Kabuki

As you bonus you get a mini kabuki brush which is great to blend in your powder contour…. and it is only recently that I found out that you can open it out to you can use it to apply a contour or  highlight on the go.  Love it.
