As you know I am a fan of a liquid lipstick so I was intrigued to see how GOSH’s Lip Lacquer would fare against other liquid lipsticks that I have tried. GOSH have produced these for Spring Summer 2014 and eight shades are currently available. They are housed like nail varnishes but when you take the lid off, it reveals a short doe foot applicator.
Dangerous Red is not a true red but has a tinge of raspberry both in the bottle and on my pigmented lips. I was expecting the colour to dry to a completely matte finish on the lips but it does not – the finish is glossy. The texture is moisturising (great if you have chapped lips) with quite alot of slip , There is a small amout of argan oil and vitamin E in this paraben free formula but this product is in a mineral oil base. There is something in the formula that makes my lips tingle slightly. The ingredients are listed in teeny tiny writing on the bottle but thanks to a magnifying glass and a lamp I was able to see that there is no peppermint oil in the formula.
The colour is not opaque as I was expecting it to be – it provides a sheer glaze of colour. I had to build up to three layers on by bottom lip to even out the colour of the top lip. I like it but I don’t love it. It is not especially long lasting and it does not stain the lips but I prefer a more impact-full lip colour.
