Brows continue to be a trend in beauty – Cara Delevigne and her thick brows are in fashion adverts from Burberry to YSL. Brook Shields is back in the beauty limelight with her MAC collection looking amazing with full brows and a mane of glossy hair. Threading and waxing establishments up and down the country are filled with women saying ‘not too thin!’ when they get their eyebrows shaped. I have developed a variety of ways of dealing with my brow s- here are the products that I use from Superdrug
Gosh Brow Gel (£4.99)
This is the one that I reach for when my eyebrows have been threaded and the shape is already there. I have it in shade 003 but it is available in 6 shades from clear to black. Unlike the brow gels of old, this does not dry super stiff or leave a slug type film across the brows. The bristles on the wand are quite long and not too hard so you can get to the root of the lash and really groom them as well as coating them in the pigmented gel. My brows stay in place all day and they look groomed without being overly made up or dramatic. It is also easy to remove with a micellaire or a cleansing balm . My eyebrows have very thin tails and I like this product for a natural look as it fills out the tail without making it super thick. At £4.99 it is very reasonably priced and you get a good three months of uses from it. I would definitely repurchase (in a darker shade).
B Defined Eyebrow Kit (£9.99)
This kit contains a highlighter (top left) which is a cream formula and very white on my skin so I don’t use it. Top right is the brow gel which you apply to the brow before applying the powder. Bottom left is the darkest powder shade. which is what I use on my browns and bottom left is a mid brown shade which is sometimes use as eye shadow but generally don’t use. Unlike the Brow Gel from Gosh, this process takes time. Firstly you brush the brows with the spoolie, which is very stiff and short. Then apply the gel with the angled brush – because the brush is so short, it is difficult to use. Then go in with the dark brown shadow over the brows. The look is more dramatic than the Brow Gel. Definitely not one to use on public transport, it is worth the extra time if you need a heavier brow for your make up look. Each of components of the kit is the same size – I think that the brow gel component should be twice as large as everything else as you get through it much quicker than the powders. For me the price of this kit is a little expensive – but that is because I only use two of the four elements of the kit. I also have to work quite hard to cover my two grey eyebrow hairs. This is one to be used at home when you have time to spend on your brows – not on the move.
