My sister bought an Eyes to Kill Intense Eye Shadow about eighteen months ago.  I was with her at the time and whilst I thought it was a cool product… I really did not get the amazing-ness of these shadows until I received Lust Red from her for Christmas last year.  As much as I love my sister I am a little upset that she did not sit me down and explain the marvellous-ness of this shadow sooner because the Eyes to Kill Intense Eye Shadow formula is like no other.

One of the future trends in make up is going hybrid products.  BB creams are a good example of this – skincare with colour cosmetics in it.  For me, the Eyes to Kill formula fits into the hybrid category.  It looks like a powder but acts like a cream. Sounds like Bare Minerals?  Not even close.  In the jar the texture is almost moist (it isn’t) but it looks like a powder.  When you load your brush with product, it still has pressed pigment but very dense as opposed to finely milled mica pigment that if you tap your brush would create a cloud of dust. When you place it on the lid, it acts like a powder if you want a wash of colour so you can blend out the edges easily.  If you want to do a liner look, it behaves a bit more like a cream (assuming you have used the correct brush for the job) and you can line the eye with great ease and definition.   It sounds confusing but it is not.  All you need to know is that application is a dream – the product does what you want it to do.

In the jar it looks like a black shadow with red shimmer but it is so much more than that.  The pigment is intense and long-lasting. No need for an eyelid primer (you can if you want to of course).  The background colour looks black from afar, but as you get closer you see that it is a blackend violet shade and the shimmer in which on first glance looks red is actually a mixture of red, blue and purple shimmer.  When you apply the product to the lid, you cannot feel the shimmer on the lid at all.  The result is a deep intense multi dimensional purple shade that reflects the light beautifully.  You can also use this product wet.  Yes really!!  I don’t think it makes a difference to the intensity of the shade but that may be due to the depth of colour

You get a hefty four grams of product which is large for a mono shadow (MAC refill is one and a half grams) but considering how much I love this shadow, it isn’t. I wear this product very regularly and I would definitely recommend it!
