Temple Spa: Repose

Temple Spa Repose Resting Cream

Temple Spa is a good example of why you should always try more than one product from a range.  When I reviewed the Temple Spa Skin Truffle  cream and I was a bit ‘meh’ about it, mainly because of the level of ‘shine bright like a diamond’ shimmer in it.  Repose however is a completely different kettle of fish.  I LOVE this cream.

Temple Spa Repose Resting Cream

Temple Spa describe Repose as a ‘Resting Cream’.  I see you raising an eyebrow like this is another marketing gimmick but stay with me.  This multi functional cream deserves your attention.  The most straightforward way to use this product is as a night cream.  Slap it on at night – with or without a facial oil / serum underneath it and wake up in the morning with plump skin looking like you have had nine hours sleep when in reality you have only had four.  For me, this is not a cream to deal with pigmentation, spots, or sagging.  This is a hydration, hydration hydration product.  If I want to deal with any of the aforementioned issues, I will apply a serum or facial oil to the skin underneath Repose.

Dont leave this cream for just the evenings.  The benefit of this being a ‘Resting Cream’ rather than just a night cream is that use it as a hydrating mask. Imagine the scene.  It is Saturday and you have a big evening ahead.  Slap on repose at midday (yes, over the skincare [not make up though] you applied in the morning) have your pre-outing bath,  with Respose still on your skin.  Remove as you would a mask and reveal hydrated skin that is the perfect backdrop for the full face of make up that you are going to apply.

It is also the day cream that I turn to when I am working from home.  A day sat in front of a computer is the perfect time to use this cream and you get all the hydrating benefits whilst working hard. This would be a great cream to apply on a long haul flight.  The packaging is sleek and black and the inclusion of a spatula is a very welcome.

I work from home one day a week and this is my working from home face cream.  it is rich but no greasy so I can apply a couple of layers to my dehydrated skin without looking like an oil slick.  Alternatively, I can play spot the dehydrated areas on my face but applying a thick layer and watching the areas that disappear first.

What makes this cream so good?  Well, the texture is rich but not greasy,  A thin  layer leaves the skin smooth to the touch.  If you choose to layer the cream, it will not roll but each layer is absorbed into the skin.  It is a jojoba based cream, which is not that common with hyaluronic acid for hydration and hops which have an anti bacterial effect. It also has  vitamin A derivative, (retinyl palmitate) Vitamin B5 (panthenol)   There are also lots of lovely essential oils which  include lavender patchouli, orange, geranium chamomile and black pepper.  Before applying to the skin, inhale the beautiful scent and exhale all the stresses of the day.   Dehydration is a common skin issue that is not age related.  Especially in colder weather and a good night cream like Repose can really make a difference to the skin and I am thoroughly enjoying the texture the smell and the effects of Repose on my skin.

Repose retails for £39 and is available from the Temple Spa website, Selfridges and other stockists.
