The weather has changed. Yes we are in the middle of August but I am no longer waking up to bright vibrant rays of sun streaming through my windows into my home. I am putting the light on in the morning and adding a light additional layer to my daily outfit and more than once I have been caught in the rain.
As I suffer from dry skin so I am always on the look out for a rich hydrating products. I have used body lotions from the Yes To range before but they have not been hydrating enough for my crocodile skin. The Head to Toe Hydrating Balm however is a worthy opponent to my thirsty skin.The trend for coconut oil is not waning so it is no surprise to see this element join the Yes To Range. Coconut is now a beauty staple and within the range, it is focussing on very dry skin. Whilst the moisturising properties of the oil cannot be denied – neither can the smell so Yes to, as with most beauty brands use a fractionated coconut oil. This makes the oil more stable, and deals with the rancidity without impact on the moisturising properties.
This balm is a blend of virgin coconut oil, sweet almond, oil shea butter, coco butter, sunflower seed oil and my all time favourite oil – avocado and other skin loving products. The coco butter scent comes through pretty strongly but my nose is sensitive to it as it is not a smell that I like. The overall effect is a bit like a bounty bar (coconut and chocolate) and to be honest it really does not last that long on the skin.
The packaging is in a tin which is great when your hands are not covered in the balm but can be a bit problematic when you are trying to close the tin after use. It is also not the easiest to read – white writing on a gold background is not good to anyone quite frankly. That said, it is fabulous on my skin. It is rich and emollient, which is my favourite type of balm. It lasts all day on my skin. The texture is lovely just melting on the skin as you warm it in the hands and it provides real comfort to the skin.
