I was introduced to Kiss Cosmetics at IMATS. A new brand that had possibly the worst spot in the whole IMATS expo. One of their staff members was standing in the main thorough fair getting peoples attention and directing people to their stand. Kiss Cosmetics focus on lip products (hence the name) and have started with a small edit of sheer and opaque lip products. as well as a couple of mascaras.
My eyes were of course scanning for purples in the range and landed on the Lip Vinyl in Seductive Damson. On me, Seductive Damson is more blue based pink than purple but the colour is pretty a purple liner soon sorts that out. This is a mineral oil based product which means that although they describe it as a liquid lipstick it does not have the moussey or drying formula of other products on the market and it does not dry to a matte finish. It is a bit sticky but it is very very pigmented. You can apply it like a stain but adding a small about to the lips and then smudge it out. Or you can go with a full application and get the full glossy effect.
For me vinyl effect products are a bit dated, so I don’t really enjoy the first sixty minutes when I am wearing this product. The smell is another reason that I don’t enjoy the first hour of the product. After that though – all good! As the vinyl effect fades that is when this colour comes into it’s own. it is quite a thick and heavy texture so you feel it on the lips but the colour pay off is worth it. Emollient, not at all drying and with a high quantity of pigment – this product has real longevity.
If you are a lipstick fanatic, this brand is worth looking at as everything under ten pounds – what’s not to like? Check out the Kiss Cosmetics website for more information.
