Sixty Seconds With… Sophie La Girafe Baby Oil

Sophie La Girafe Baby Oil

Sophie La Girafe is a children’s toy created over fifty years ago in France.  Created on St Sophies day, Sophie was formed in rubber and squeaked.  In 2000, the cosmetics line associated with the brand was created.  It is a range of Eco Cert skincare suitable for babies from zero months and older.   The range has a unisex delicate aesthetic and is housed in sturdy plastic so itis lovely to look at yet practical.  The range has a bubble bath, hair and body wash, protection cream, face cream but as someone with perpetual dry skin it was the baby oil that piqued my interest.

The product can be used (on babies) to cleanse the body and face  but as I am an adult with extremely dry skin (on my body) I just used it to moisturise my extremely dry skin.   There is a delicate almost powdery scent, strangely as it has lavender and blueberries.  The oil is a blend of jojoba, sunflower, apricot and olive oil.   If I was a new born baby this would be sufficiently moisturising but forty odd years on, I need something with a bit more oomph.   That said – I did enjoy using it and this was a product that I kept from the Mr’s oversized hands.  There are lots of organic baby oils on the market at a variety of price points but this is definitely one of the most giftable options.
