Skincare gadgets have really benefited from advances in technology. What you previously had to go to a salon for and which was a big cumbersome machine is now portable, This means that you can replicate the impacts at home or top up the treatments in your home. The Sensio Spa Face Lift and Firmer is an example of this technology not only getting smaller but also more affordable. At fifty pounds it comes in cheaper than some electric toothbrushes.
There are several signs of ageing including loss in muscle mass. The muscles in the face benefit from being worked in the same way that the muscles in the body do. Working the muscles helps the face to retain structure and form. The skin does not have muscles in it. The face has muscles attached to it which help to support the skin. Think of it if you will like working out your pectoral muscles which sit behind the breast. When muscle mass is reduced the skin appears slackened. This happens not only on the face but the whole body.
The Sensio Spar Face Lift and Firmer uses Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology. It is the same technology at a lesser strength to the machines used in beauty salons. The idea of this gadget is that the muscles that you don’t don’t move in the course of talking eating, smiling and frowning are stimulated, are given a work out. Regular exercising of these muscles increases muscle mass and decreased slackened skin. EMS technology is proven and often used to treat a range of conditions including Bells Palsy.
So that’s the techie bit. The gadget kind of looks like a pair of over ear headphones with an MP3 player attachment. There are six different modes. Each mode induces a different set of facial contractions which mimic the nerve signals that make the muscles in your face move. It feels quite strange at first. It is not uncomfortable and it does not hurt but having part of your face move is a weird feeling.
My favourite setting is the Fat Buster. I have a round face and the beginnings of a double chin so I need all the help I can get. It does not do anything for the muscles in the throat and neck but it definitely had an impact on my jowls. I use it for ten minutes about three times a week. The Clean Mode claims amongst other things to reduce the size of your pores. I tried it but did not find that it did anything. The sensors need to be in full contact with the skin to work. Take the time to find the best (most comfortable) position on your face . There is also red LED light which is said to stimulate collagen.
As with all gadgetry it is a commitment. If it is sitting in the box it wont help your face, but if you are consistent with your use, you will see a result in a couple of months. The lovely thing about this was that I can sit at home and watch a bit of telly or better still blog whilst I was increasing the tone of the muscles in my face?
