Anastasia Beverley Hills: Self Made Palette First Impressions and Swatches

Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette

My first Anastasia Beverley Hills product and no, it is not an eyebrow product but a palette.  The limited edition Self Made Palette has fourteen shades which are a mixture of matte, satin and glittery shades and there is also a duo chrome in this palette.  A great range of finishes and a really nice range of colours.  If you are looking for a neutral palette, this is not it.  This  palette has a little bit of something for everyone.  I really like the variety in this palette and the colours whilst strong in their own right work really well together.

The packaging is reinforced cardboard with a textured silver gray finish and a silver plaque on the top.  The texture of the similar but not the same as MUFE artist shadows so they are not as powdery as other shadows on the market.

Bottom Row

Deep Purple – GORGEOUS amethyst purple (need this as a single shadow).
Treasure: Light Champagne (very very bright, very soft texture).
Hot & Cold: Muted metallic copper (very wearable).
Sherbert – Light peach with a velvet finish, (great brow bone highlight).
Isla – Sea foam green with a duo chrome gold (I only ever see see the green when I swatch it)
Spirit Rock: Matte black with red, gold and pink glitter (similar to Beauty Marked from MAC)
Hot Chocolate – Cocoa brown with a matte finish (not as deep as Coconut Grove from NARS)

The palette also has a double ended brush which is really good.  A stubbier end for packing on colour, but the real winner is the soft fluffy end which is perfect for blending out harsh edges.  The only shade that does not work for me is Buttery.  The texture, is lovely but the colour just looks ashy on me.  I am more than prepared to forgive the colour though as Deep purple is EVERYTHING.

This palette retails for approximately twenty six pounds in the UK which is fantastic value, but, it is sold out on Cult Beauty at the moment so if you do see it anywhere – snap it up!
