It is fantastic to see her brand grow from hair care to a children’s range, bath and body care and now skincare. Tope is a qualified beauty therapist and aromatherapist as well as a talented hair stylist so the development of a skincare brand was always on the cards. The range is paraben free and incorporates organic ingredients. Currently is cant be classified as an organic range but it is definitely a ‘natural’ brand suitable for #greenbeauty fans.
Mahogany Naturals Hydrating Repair Oil (£50.00)
I love a face oil and this has been added to my weekly rotation. The carrier oil is evening primrose oil which is rich in omega six and great for dealing with inflammation. This blend is full of skin loving oils including marula, baobab, rosehip and avocado oils. Chamomile and rosemary provide not only fragrance but also calming and toning benefits to the skin. On the face it is not greasy and the pipette provides a generous drop which is sufficient for my big face. I’ve also been using this to nourish a patch of dry skin on my leg with great success. This oil provides nourishment and hydration but isn’t heavy. I’ve really enjoyed applying it generously to the skin before getting into the bath or shower to give my skin an instant boost. This product really does what is says on the tin – hydrates and nourishes.
Mahogany Naturals Manuka Face Cream (£50.00)
The Manuka Face Cream has an organic aloe vera base and the emollients are coconut oil, shea butter and avocado oil. The texture is very very light. I found that my combination skin was not super greasy using this product. The star ingredient in the manuka honey. It may be a product that you generally smear on toast when you are trying to kick a cold. On the skin honey is an it has both calming and active actions. Manuka honey has anti inflammatory properties which is great for combatting acne. It is a humectant so for eczema and rosacea it is healing and soothing. This cream has the most amazing smell thanks to the rosemary essential oil Rosemary is great to promote skin renewal. The cream dries to a matte finish so it is a good base for makeup.
I’m very happy to declare that Tope is a dear friend of mine and I’m really pleased and proud of her. She provided me with this products for review but as always I have been completely honest. These are great products – the facial oil is my top pick!!
