Five from the Highstreet/Drugstore #1 feat Max Factor

Five from the highstreet/drugstore #1 featuring Max Factor, superdrug, Makeup Revolution, Barry M and Rimmel

In this brand new series, I am going to be featuring five products that you can pick up from Superdrug or Boots.  Each instalment will feature a complexion product and will cover everything from tools to complexion products.

Five from the highstreet/drugstore #1 featuring Max Factor, superdrug, Makeup Revolution, Barry M and Rimmel

Max Factor All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation (£12.99)

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Max Factor All Day Flawless in Suntan

Cudos to Superdrug for the #ShadesofBeauty campaign… but… they really need to speak to Max Factor.  The deepest shade the is currently available is called ‘Sun Tan’.  Nope, I’m not joking.  You really could not make this stuff up.  Anyway…  This shade is not deep enough for me but I added Cover FX Custom Cover Drops.  I have mixed feelings.  This is full coverage, which I love and the finish is demi matte.  If you are combo or oily you will need to touch up as usual but I think it is expensive and the name of the shade is a ridiculous.

Makeup Revolution The One Blush Stick in Rush (£2.50)

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Makeup Revolution The One Stick in Rush

Rush is a matte coral tone, designed for the cheeks but it can also be worn on the lips. Coral is the trickiest shade for me to wear so it was not a surprise to find that this looked terrible on my lips and ok on the cheeks.

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Makeup Revolution The One Stick in Rush WoC SwatchI tend to use it as a blush base and wear a copper tone over the top.  It’s not for me, but if  you have a paler skin tone, this shade will be glorious on you.

Rimmel The Only One Lipstick in Best of the Best (£6.99)

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Rimmel The Only One Best of the Best

It is a big statement to say that a product in your brand is ‘The Only One’ especially when your brand contains the Kate Moss range which are loved by the majority.   Pigmented, easy to apply and long wearing, it has a sheen so it is quite wearable. If you want a matte shade, this is not the product for you.

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Rimmel The Only Pne Best of the Best WoC Swatch

It is a beautiful cool toned red which compliments my skin tone perfectly. This lipstick really is a good one but I prefer the Kate Moss range.

Superdrug Hand Cream 2 in 1 (£2.99)

Five from the high street drugstore #1 Superdrug Handcream 2 in 1

A hand cream is one of my most used and most repurchased products. I had low expectations of this one from Superdrug but a quick scan of the ingredients there was no mineral oil in it – result!  It is light but the emollients are glycerine and sweet almond oil. It does not leave the skin greasy so it is perfect for the office or the car.  It is surprisingly good!

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint (£4.99)

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Barry M Tikki Hut (47)

Coconut water and coconut oil are everywhere but it was a surprise to see a nail brand jumping on the band wagon.  The coconut oil and water in this nail paint does not change the smell or longevity of this product.  I did not find it to be any more hydrating or nourishing than other Barry M products that don’t contain coconut oil or water.

Five from the highstreet drugstore #1 Barry M Tikki Hut (47) Woc Swatch

That said, this has the same Barry M quality and Tiki Hut is a lovely nude for my deep skintone – thumbs up

All the products listed in Five from the highstreet / drugstore #1 are available from Superdrug.
