Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eyecolor Trio

There is a special place in my heart for eye shadow palettes that only contain purple shades.  The Shiseido Luminising Satin eye Colour Trio is one of my most used palettes. Shiseido like many make up brands has its origins in pharmacy.  Since 1872 this Japanese brand has grown to become one of the largest and most influential globally.  Makeup brands that form the house of Shiseido include, Bare Minerals, NARS, Serge Lutens and most recently Dolce and Gabanna.

Apart from the fact that all the shades in the palette are purple, I also love the way that each of the shades is brightening on my skin.  From the icy light lavender that I wear on the inner tear duct, through the mid tone and into the deeper shade this palette is shimmery goodness.

The palette is well constructed and can survive many a month in a packed makeup bag.  It is not cardboard (hurrah) and closes with a satisfactory click.    The palette is supplied with a great quality brush, which  actually work, and a double ended applicator.

The quality of the shadows is fabulous.  True to the colour on the lid.  There is little to no kick up, even when using the foam applicator.  The shades are super smooth an the micro shimmer does not fall down the face.  These shadows are beautiful wet, and there is no detrimental impact to the product in the pan when you use a damp brush.

There are seventeen colourways in the eyeshadow trio so whether you are a purple fanatic like me or you prefer a neutral palette or more varied tones like yellow and green there is something for you.  I have had this palette for about year so I have really got to know it and I am not bored of it yet.  Sometimes I add a brown or black shade to add depth and definition to the crease.  I usually just wear it as a wash of colour.  Shiseido shadows aren’t talked about much in the bloggersphere but they are definitely worth swatching.
