The Hand Cream Edit featuring This Works

The hand cream Edit featuring the Body Shop, Sante, Organic Pharmacy, This Works and Ultrasun

I have hand creams EVERYWHERE.  In the car, at work, in my bag, in the makeup bag in my bag, the kitchen, the bathroom – everywhere. Hand creams are my most repeated purchase and I always have three or more on the go.  This is my current hand cream edit.

The hand cream Edit featuring the Body Shop, Sante, Organic Pharmacy, This Works and Ultrasun

*Anti Pigmentation Hand Cream – Ultrasun (£18.00)

Ultrasun Anti Pigmentation Handcream

I love the idea of an SPF 30 hand cream, I am noticing ageing on my hands and I know that an SPF is important.  However the Anti Pigmentation Hand Cream from Ultrasun does not work for me.  When first applied it is white on my rich skin tone.  If you work it into the skin the white cast goes, but it takes time to work it into the skin.    It also leaves the skin a bit tacky. This means that I have to wait before I carry out any actions with my hands.

Energy Bank Hand Makeover – This Works (£25.00)

This Works Energy Bank Hand Makerover

I absolutely love the smell of this hand cream.  The This Works Energy Bank range and an aromatherapy blend of geranium, ylang ylang, rosemary, orange, bergamot, patchouli, cedar and sandalwood.  This hand cream also contains a blend of ‘soft focus powders’.  these have two effects, firstly they give the hand cream a powdery texture.  At first was not a fan but I have grown accustomed to it.  The second effect is that  they are said blur imperfections on the skin.  On my rich skin tone I don’t see much of an effect but I still like this hand cream.  It lives on my desk as home as the powder texture means you can use the laptop / phone straight away.

* Hemp Hand Protector – Body Shop (£5.00)

Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector

One of my favourite high street hand creams.  It is also a cheaper and mineral oil free alternative to the L’Occitane Shea Butter hand cream.  The Hemp Hand Protector is emollient, which is my favourite kind of hand cream.  It is not overly fragranced so I can force encourage the Mr to use it and it’s a great price.  The aluminium tube means that it it is not best suited to carrying in a full bag or makeup bag but it is my favourite from this hand cream edit.

Sante Naturkosmetik Hand Cream (£1.95)

Sante Nauturkiosmetik Hand Cream

German brand Sante is a an affordable natural skincare brand. It is cruelty free and has leaping bunny certification.  The hand cream is a water based hand cream with coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil, it also has camellia oil.  This is a good one for the office or the car as the super light texture is perfect for doing activities straight afterwards.  It is not as emollient as I would like considering all the nutrient rich oils and butters in it.  The 30ml size is good for the hand bag but the real issue I have with this product is the smell. I don’t know what it is but the odour makes me feel nauseated.  It goes after a few minutes… but yuck.  It might be the goji berry.  Not sure, just don’t like it

Organic Pharmacy Marigold and Comfrey Hand and Nail Cream (£21.95)

Organic Pharmacy Marigold and Comfrey Hand Cream

I got this as a freebie with a magazine and I am so glad I picked it up as it is a really good handcream.  Not as emollient as the Hemp Hand Protector but rich enough to deal with my dry skin. It absorbs quickly and is jam packed with organic ingredients.  This is the hand cream that lives at the bottom of my handbag and I use it all day every day.  Yes, there are cheaper options out there but this is a good hand cream.
