Lola Makeup have new home in Kings Cross. There is much discussion about how e-commerce is impacting positively on the beauty industry. More of us are buying online and this model has cost benefits for brand and consumers.
Lola is currently available in larger M&S stores but as with all brands is having to vie for space, which is at a premium in the fast growing beauty hall. Now Lola Makeup have a new bricks and mortar home in Kings Cross. Hurrah. As a makeup brand they understand that absolutely nothing beats playing with colours and textures in person.
The boutique is on a busy but not bustling street about 2 minutes from the train station. Inside is the full Lola Makeup Range as well as a small edit from sister skincare brand Cinere and sister hair care brand Reseed which focuses on preventing hair loss.
There is a makeup artist in store not only to help you with your purchase and also to help with colour choices an application. Large mirrors and a comfy chair are screaming ‘come and have a makeover’ so there is not reason not to find whether that shade of red lipstick or teal eye shadow will suit you.
When you see the full range in one space, you begin to realise the depth of the brand. The store is full of pops of colour housed in sleek black packaging. I had no idea that Lola did lashes and sponges but there they were on a carousel unit.
The store opening was a busy night with prosecco flowing and some familiar faces in attendance.
Brand Ambassador and professional MUA Louise Connor welcomed MUAS and influencers to the store for a preview evening where we had a chance to play and get familiar with the space.
There is much more to Lola Makeup than what you see in M&S. Nina Westbury announced at the opening that she will be doing a makeup masterclass in January. Louise let me know that it will be the first of many events held in the space.
If you are based in London, it is worth a trip. If you are travelling to and or from Kings cross en route to somewhere, it is definitely worth the detour.
