Urban Nature from Danish Beauty Brand GOSH

GOSH SS17 Urban Nature

GOSH is one of my favourite affordable beauty brands.  They consistently product high quality products at a reasonable price.  If they produced an inclusive complexion range they would (in my opinion) give the usual high street suspects a real run for their money. The Spring Summer collection for 2017 is one of the best that I have seen from them.  The marketing concept ‘Urban Nature’ promotes that there are no norms for a beautiful you.  While I really like the sentiment really what I am interested in are the products that have been released

Urban Nature – Eyes

Volume Serum Mascara (£13.99)

GOSH SS17 Volume Serum Mascara

GOSH are really making a name for themselves with their mascara range.  The Volume Serum Mascara is suitable for lash extensions thanks to the formula which is water based and oil free.

It also has a comb rather than a brush for application.  This means that you can really get close to the root and build up the length and volume that you want with the thick or thin comb.  It looks scary but it really isn’t.  I love this mascara on my short lashes – give it a try.

For spring summer there is a real focus on black to define the eyes.  I love black liner all year round but I thought it was interesting to see the brand promote this palette for spring and summer.

The Infinity Eyeliner (£6.99)

A gel eyeliner is a great dupe for my favourite Trish McEvoy product – the gel eyeliner.  It is jet black, glides on and stays on.  It’s  really affordable and it is a full length pencil so you get plenty of product.

The Giant Pro Double Liner (£10.49)

This product is the same as the limited edition Lola Kajal Duo and the Ciate Double Lines product.  It is not a dupe it is exactly the same thing and that is great because it is a great product.  The kajal side is perfect for intensifying shadow and the felt tip liner is fine enough for a thin line but also creates beautiful graphic lines.

The Giant Pro Kajal (£6.49)

This is the kajal end of the double liner.   Fingers crossed GOSH bring this out in other colours because the texture is gorgeous.

Eye Expression Quad (£8.99)

GOSH SS17 Eye Expressions Back to Nature

There has been a change in the GOSH eyeshadow palettes and for me it is a change for the better.  Quads rather than nine shades and very wearable shades.  They all have 3 matte and one shimmer shade which is the right proportion for an every day palette 01 Back to nature is the perfect neutral palette and an affordable dupe for Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage but at £8.99 is about 7 times cheaper.  The texture of the shadows are very smooth and they last about 8 hours with primer.

Urban Nature – Lips

GOSH SS17 Liquid Matte Lips

Liquid Matte Lips (£8.99)

GOSH SS17 Liquid Matte Lips

The matte liquid lipsticks are my pick from this launch.  They are so good and look and feel like a  NARS high end product.  The texture is not a mousse, it is a loose lipstick texture which means that it is not at all drying on the skin.  It dries down, but it remains slightly tacky. As you eat your biscuits and drinking your cup of tea it wears very slightly but it won’t survive a burger.  That said, you can layer this product and it does not pill at all.   There have neutral shades, which are all a bit light for me but the deeper shades are right up my street.  The purple – Arabian Nights is SO GOOD, purple fanatic or not you need it.

Urban Nature – Face

Contour Cover and Conceal Sticks (£9.99)

GOSH SS17 Contour Cover Conceal in Golden, Dark and Very Dark
L-R: Golden, Dark, Very Dark

Think Bobbi Brown Touch Up sticks.  These are available in a range of skin-tone shades.  The dark and very dark shade are not close to my skin-tone so they will be used to conceal and highlight but the winner is the golden shade which is a true highlight for the high points of the face.  It is not a super strobe-y colour so if you want more zing you can go over top with a powder product.

Lumi-Drops Blush (£8.99)

GOSH SS17 Urban Nature Lumi Drops Blusher (Coral)

When I saw this colour I assumed that it would not work for me.  It is a coral type shade which generally does not work for me.  I have to say that this is more pink that coral on me and the shade is very pretty, it is not sufficiently pigmented for my rich skin-tone

GOSH have really built on their reputation for creating wearable products with a touch of innovation.  Next time you are in Superdrug, especially when they are on offer take a look at the collection.
