B Beauty Relaunch and Giveaway

B. Makeup Model Shot

B. Makeup Model Shot B Beauty have re-launched – hurrah.  Superdrug’s in house makeup range is significantly improved from the packaging to the formulas there is newness all around.  The brand is proudly vegan and aloe vera is an ingredient that features heavily across the brand.  There is lots to be excited about as the range has had a full revamp.  There are primers, blushers bronzers, contour sticks and lipsticks.  Even the brushes have been redesigned.  I’m going to focus on the complexion products today.  Why? because unlike the vast majority of  UK based high street /drugstore brand, I can buy foundation AND concealer in shades for my skin tone.  It’s 2017 and the struggle for a high street concealer is real!

Foundations  with SPF15 (£9.99)

There are two type of foundation Flawless Silk and Flawless Matte.  The Flawless Matte formula is my favourite.  It is slightly thicker in texture and is a full coverage that lasts all day without primer.  It is not flat matte, it is more demi matte and it is really good!  The Flawless Silk foundation is  more luminous, for me it is better for good skin days. It is light to medium coverage and again lasts a good 8 hours on the skin. The foundation packaging is a tube with pump so it survives days in a full makeup bag.

B Beauty

The pump is sensitive so you can dispense as much as you need.  There are ten shades in each of  the foundations.  A better then most in the high street.  They are prefaced by C (cool) N (neutral) and W (warm) but whilst there is a visible difference between the C, N and W shades they are not extremes so you could feasibly wear the N if the C or W you want is not available.

I was not a fan of the old B Beauty foundation formala – I love this one.

Flawless Duo Concealers(£6.99)

Big congratualtions to B Beauty on their FlawlessDuo Concealers.  If you have a deeper skintone getting a concealer in Boots or Superdrug is like catching unicorn tears with your bare hands.  Each concealer has two shades  and they have a light emollient texture which means that they work well to highlight the face.

B Beauty

If you want to cover blemishes, you will get full coverage, but the texture is light so I sometimes set it with powder before applying foundation to stop it moving around on the face.  The observant out there will note that there are some shades in the concealers that are not available as foundations (N3, W5, N6, W7, N8 and W9) which means that if you cant find your shade in the foundation, you can pick up a concealer and use that as a foundation.  I am hopeful that Superdrug will also launch these shades as foundations in the future which would further extend their range.

Lip  & Cheek Tint (£6.99)

B Beauty

A Lip and Cheek Tint has never been a product that I have been drawn too.  Either the texutre has not worked on both areas of  the face or the colour did not work with my rich skintone.  The B Beauty offering however is different. I was surprised by this one for many reasons.  The shade I have is Berry Nice. On me it is a pretty nude tone for both lips and cheeks. It has a dri texture which sounds odd but it works well in both areas.  On the cheeks it behaves like a cream to powder product which means that it works well with a matte foundation.  On the lips is has almost a lip pencil texure so it is great under lip  gloss/balm. It also works well to layer under lipstick.

Velvet Matte Lipstick (£6.99)

Mulberry Smooth is the most purple tone of their velvet lipstick range.   It is a pinky wine/berry tone and really pretty (despite the fact that it is not purple!).  It is a pigmented traditional lippie so you get full opacity with one swipe and it is very comfortable to wear.  This is a high end formula in drugstore packaging.. that is that cheap looking either. Another matte but not dried at our flat finish.  Available in 10 shades, which include nudes and reds.

Thumbs Up Or Thumbs Down?

I think this is a great relaunch. There is room for the range to go darker and lighter  in their completion products but their core 10 shades cover a wider range of skintones than many brands. The colour products are wearable but nicely pigmented with great textures.  Definite thumbs up –  there is something for everyone

The lovely people at B Beauty provided me with two generous goody bags for two lucky readers to help me celebrate my blog-aversary.  There are a mixture of products across the two prizes including contour, liquid lipsticks eye products
