MAC Pro Conceal and Correct Palette (Dark)

MAC Pro Conceal and Correct (Dark)

It has been a LOOOOOOONG time since I have worn a MAC foundation.  Like, years… like pre blog.  I don’t know why or how but I recently felt like it was time to try MAC again.  Some people do things for the gram, I do things for the blog… well sometimes the gram too but anyway.  I decided to get the Pro Conceal and Correct palette as

  1.  it is Studio Fix (cream) formula and
  2. there are lots of shades.

Why Wait So Long?

My last foundation experience of MAC was at Selfridges where I went with a friend to get a foundation.  She was given a colour that literally made her look like mustard.  Prior to that it was the NW45 debacle where every woman of colour with a deep skintone appeared to be sold NW45 – myself included.

On the Skin

There are four foundations in the palette. NC45, NC50, NW55 and NW45.  None of  shades are an exact match for any part of my face. The product that I use more than I thought I would is Ochre colour corrector.  Blended with NW55 it creates the perfect shade for several parts of my face. Everybody has several tones on their face – me included which is why buying foundation is such a ball ache. In playing with this palette  I discovered that I really can mix and match my perfect shades.

Colour Correctors

Fast forward to today and I have had my hands on the concela and correc palette for a couple of months.  The stand out shade for me is the Pure Orange.  It is one of the best colour correctors I have used – ever.  If I am getting read to go out and I really want to look perfected, this is the colour corrector that I turn to. It is not only the texture but also the shade.  It blends into the skin seamlessly and takes away the grey ashiness that my hyperpigmentation causes under foundations.

Final Thoughts

Did I need another foundation product?  O course not. I have lots of foundations, but… I’m glad I picked up the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette.  Why? Because the next time I go into a  MAC store, I may not come out with a foundation, but I probably will come out with the Ochre and  Pure Orange colour correctors.
