Yesterday I attended the #DaveLovesLondon Twitter Dinner. Dave Lackie is an award winning Canadian beauty influencer. He knows all there is to know about luxury beauty brands. His website is a great source of information for beauty news and reviews. He is featured regularly on Canadian TV giving an insight into the beauty industry. He has a genuine passion for the beauty industry which is really refreshing. I first ‘found’ Dave on Twitter. He has a really engaged following where he shares latest releases and often holds giveaways.
Nina Westbury
Pro MUA Nina Westbury was based Canada with Dave but is now back in the big smoke. They maintain their ‘makeup bestie’ relationship online and in real life with insider jokes, cheesy grins and friendly ribbing that lets you know that there is true love and respect there. There is no doubt in my mind that Nina is a huge part of the reason why #DaveLovesLondon.
The Twitter Dinner
In Canada Dave holds a regular dinner for his twitter follows and last year repeated the process here with the hashtag #DaveLovesLondon. When I saw on Nina’s timeline that Dave was holding a twitter dinner this year, and to be in with a chance to attend all you had to do was leave a comment on the article on his website I jumped at the chance.
Lo and behold a few weeks later I got a DM on twitter letting me know that I had been successfull and was going to the #DaveLovesLondon Twitter Dinner hosted by Dave and his makeup bestie at the Sofitel in swanky St James.
Twelve makeup enthusiasts joined Dave, his partner Jeff and Nina for a great evening. The food was delicious, the bubbly was flowing and we had great conversations about life, the universe and most importnatly cosmetics. The brands that Dave works closely with provided a very generous goody bag which I’m very excited to get on my face.
If you are not following Dave on all of his social platforms you really should. He is ace. A huge thank you to Dave and Nina for hosting us, the brands that very generously supported them and a virtual wave to all the attendees.
