I have to say a huge thank you to Maria at @MsXpat for giving me the inspiration to do this post. For those of you who have a purple obsessive in your life, here are a few suggestions of presents that they might enjoy – all of which are Perfect Purples.
The Purple Shoes
When I started my blog – I had a pair of Carvela patent purple Mary Janes. They were my favourite shoes ever, and I wore them to death. They also influenced the name of the blog. Carvela is one of my favourite shoe ranges, heels that are comfortable with a round toe and a generous helping of purple every season. So, you can imagine my delight when I saw theses beauties. High but not too high, purple and doused in sparkle. The perfect Christmas shoe for the purple fanatic.
The Purple Fragrance
Let me introduce you to super luxe fragrance house Sospiro and their neroli offering Capriccio. Apologies for the photo as it does the bottle absolutely no justice. The bottle is covered in a purple velvet type material. YES! If you find yourself in Harrods or Fortnum and Mason you can get up close and personal to this brand. 100ml of ultimte luxury clothed in imperial purple. This bottle takes purple to another level.
The Purple Hat
I happened upon Laird Hatters by accident, and then spent twenty minutes trying on hats and getting to know the brand. I love hats and feel very fortunate that my large head and round forehead mean that most hats suit me. In Laird however the hats are on another level. Beautiful designs that are influenced by tradition but have a modern twist all made in the UK and in beautiful fabric. Rabbit felt. Yes, that’s a thing. They have a beautiful store in central London with a variety of caps and hats. My favourite however and suggest for this gift guide is the signature Laird hat in purple of course. Great gift for a fashionista but also for someone who is looking for a timeless piece that represents style over fashion.
The Purple Palette
Guerlain Ecrin 4 Coleurs in Les Violets. This is a bit of a cheat. I have already bought this as a Christmas present to myself. I am a fan of Guerlain powder products, despite the heavy dose of violet fragrance in them. There is a possibility that this palette is the best purple palette that I have ever laid my hands on. Guerlain like many ‘high end’ brands do not have a huge amount of purple in their palette but what they do have is bloody good. Look out for a review on this palette next year. In terms of gifting, I think that Guerlain really trumps Chanel and and some Dior products due to the heavy gold packaging. The Guerlain range is so giftable, that any purple fanatic would be happy to have this beauty under their tree.
The Purple Lips
Lips and Boys. I received these two beauties (Liam and Alasdhair) last year for Christmas and it is an under statement to say that I was over the moon. Mr Tom Ford has brought Lips and Boys back this year. All the gorgeous packaging in mini sizes at a more accessible price. If there is a purple fanatic in your life I would recommend Theo and Jay!
Purple is always a seasonal shade during the holiday season so it is easy to pick up some great purple options. If you have any purple recommendations I would love to hear them.
