I posted a first impressions video on the Rodial GlamoLash XXL mascara and Smokey Eye Pen on my You Tube channel but I thought that it would be helpful to provide a bit more detail about the products now that I have had a chance to play with them.
Smokey Eye Pen.
The soft texture means that it can either be used to line the eye or as I have been doing used as a base colour with an eyeshadow over the top. If you want to smudge the colour you have a short window of opportunity before it sets and it smudge proof. The brown shade was not deep enough for me but if you have a fairer complexion it is a nice alternative to black.
GlamoLash XXL Mascara.
I LOVE this mascara. The more I use it the more I love it. If you follow me on Instagram , you will have seen that I have been posting this as part of my #FOTD very regularly You get a hefty thirteen grams of product which compares very favourably to other brands eg Lancome mascaras which are generally six and a half grams.
The colour is very black and very long lasting. This mascara is not the easiest to remove although it is not water proof. You will need a micellar water or bi-phase eye make up remover as if you use a cleansing oil or cleansing balm you will spend a long time rubbing the cleanser over your eyes. Melt it off with the water and then cleanse the skin as per your usual routine.
Interestingly Rodial market this product as a volumising mascara but I found that it gave fantastic length – more so then volume. Even with two coats, my individual lashes are not clumped together, the lashes remain flexible and did I mention the length? The wand is quite thick so make sure you are looking down when you apply this mascara otherwise you can get mascara onto your eyeshadow. The overall effect however is so good that it is definitely worth it.
Rodial Smokey Eye Pen Retails for £ 18.00 and GlamoLash XXL mascara retails for £24.00 Both products are available from the Rodial website, Harvey Nichols and other authorised stockists.
