The final spot in my palette has now been filled. As it is New Years Eve, I had to go for a sparkly one. Idol Eyes is described by MAC as ‘silvered violet with gold’. Depending on the light, it is more silver with a flash of violet or just silver, but the benefit of the gold in the mix is that it makes it a slightly warmer tone. This is not the easiest eyeshadow to work with. It is a Lustre so it is when applied directly to the skin, the application is uneven and it is mainly the glitter that is seen on the skin. The only way that I use it dry is in the inner corner for a touch of a highlight.
The only way to use this effectively, is wet or foiled. Pick up the shadow on the brush and dampen the brush with water or Fix Plus and apply it to the skin. It stays on the skin for ages and produces a beautiful metallic sheen…. which is perfect for New Years Eve.
So my palette is now complete. It has been a lot of fun collecting shadows. Head over to my Instagram to see a smoky look I created with Idol Eyes.
