Brand Alert: Therapi Honey Skincare

Therapi Honey Skincare

 Therapi Honey Skincare

Aparist Tanya Howes created Therapi which is a brand that utilises her knowledge of honey and bees in a beautiful edit of effective skincare products.  There are lots of British honey based brands on the market, but Therapi has several points of difference.

Firstly the products do not smell like honey.  You know that ‘honey’ smell that I am talking about.  There are no sweet, sickly or sticky products in the range.  The fragrances and textures are refined and elegant.  Secondly this is not a brand that uses honey to the exclusion of other ingredients.  From aloe vera to sandalwood, there are a  range of high quality ingredients which compliment that organic honey and propolis in the brand.  Thirdly this brand commits to donating five percent  of the profits to be conservation.  For a relatively new brand, demonstrating by their actions is impressive.

Therapi Honey Skincare

This is not just a brand for #greenbeauties.  Therapi is a brand that I would happily gift to my hemp garment wearing friend (I really do have one of those) but equally I would gift this range to the friend that does not care about the brand story – she just wants a product that works and also to the family member who loves high tech products and has sensitive skin .

The two products that I have tried and really loved from this range are two of the face moisturisers.

Orange Blossom Honey Moisturiser.  Normal / Combination Skin (£30.00)

Therapi Honey Skincare

As I said, no stickiness but a lovely rich emollient cream that absorbs and leaves the skin without a sheen.  Think cold cream texture and colour (it is white) – which in my book is not a bad thing.    It absorbs quickly and is rich without being greasy.  Sea buckthorn oil and calendula extract provide additional nourishment to the skin. The orange fragrance is really subtle.  If you have a combination to normal skin this is the one for you.

Rose Otto Ultra Radiance Cream. Dry / Mature Skin (£35.00)

Therapi Honey Skincare

This is the big gun of the moisturisers in the range in my opinion.  Rose is not my preferred fragrance in skincare but this scent is authentic rose.  There is a nod to the honey in the product from the colour and the rose hits you from when you open the jar.  The texture of this cream is much richer than the Honey Moisturiser thanks to the rosehip oil and shea butter.  For me this one was a great night cream or it was the cream that I layered on after exfoliating or on work from home days when I had to face wind and rain.  If you have a drier skin you will love this. If your skin looks and feels like it wants food (ask opposed to water) then you will love this and if you just love a rich, heavy cream you will also love this.  This cream is also a great base for make up.   If this moisturiser were in a tube rather than a jar it would be a great natural alternative to Embryolisse as it deals with dry and flaky patches in an instant and is a great base for flawless foundation be it liquid powder or even cream.

The range is available from Being Content among other places. If you are looking for a fuss free but effective range this is a really nice one.
