I thought when I took the Eyelure Brow Amplifier out of the box that it was like every other brow gel. When you see the tiny wand, I thought hurrah, makes a change from the larger mascara type wands. The mid brown colour I assumed would be too light for me so I applied with great abandon on my brows, In my bathroom which does not have the best light. I used it like I would use a brow gel. Then I put the wand down and looked in the mirror.
Oh. Not quite Groucho Marks but wow. Firstly the colour in the tube, that milk chocolate brown translates to a cool brown/black tone. Secondly, although my brows are sparse they are not threaded to a thin shape and these brows were almost Instagram brows with the thickness and filled-inness. I’m not complaining – I want fuller brows but gosh, this product is not what I thought it was.
When you first apply the Brow Amplifier it is shiny which is a bit scary, but it dries matte and then looks more natural. Still thick, but natural and your brows are set for the day. If you have bushy brows that need a bit of calming, this is not the product for you. Lucky for me I wear large glasses and my frames part cover my brows cos that first day… well, it was not a good look. Having played with the produt however, I know understand that best way to make it work for you. Brow Amplifier is the right name becacuse whatever you have, this product will amplify it. To get the best out of this product, my suggestions are the following
- Brush your brows before you use the product – don’t use the wand to brush your brows into shape. The more you go through your brows with the tiny wand, the more product you apply to the hairs and the skin behind them. Best to create the shape you want first
- Make sure your brow shape is cleaned up before you use it. You will thank me, but if you have brows need waxing / threading / plucking, all this product will do is create a monster brow unless you are very careful with the application.
- Take any excess product off on the tip of the tube before you apply it to the brows. As you can see from the picture, quite alot of product comes out of the tube – you dont need that much.
- Less is more – you only need to go through the brows once. Short strokes to amplify the brow where you need it. For me – this means more at the tail of the brow and less at the head of the brow.
If you have sparse brows – this is a great product, really quick and easy to use and at just under a tenner, it is great value too.
