Talon Tales: Dior Mirage #tinumademedoit

Dior Mirage

Dior Mirage 338

As I previewed in last weeks Talon Tales, this week I am reviewing my first Dior Nail Polish. Hurrah! There are currently no purples in the range but Dior Mirage stuck out as the winner. It is a grown up pink with a cream hi gloss texture which is perfect whatever your nail length and complements brown skin beautifully.

The packaging is sleek.  The silver lid is removed to reveal a black plastic lid which as many brands have. When you open the bottle the wand is quite short and the brush is quite long and best of all wide. which makes application easy to control.  In addition the wide brush means that I can apply the colour in one or two stokes on all my nails. Dior Mirage is opaque in one coat, although I did two for completeness.  The formula dries quickly and has a shine even without top coat.  It is slightly, very slightly thicker than some other polishes that I have but not quite as thick as a gel formula.

You get ten millilitres of product which is larger, but not as large as for example OPI or other pro brands.  Mirage is a very pretty cream pink, not quite enough red for raspberry but not enough blue to call it fuchsia.  I really really wish that there was  a purple in the range because this formula really is excellent.   Of course have too much plenty (!) of purple polish but this is such a good formula that I would love a purple in this shade.  I understand why Tinu from ColourRiot Nails uses it in her studio.  As with the manicure that I had at Keziah Connections, I got some shrinkage after five days but it did not chip.  I am very impressed, so when Dior do bring another purple into their range I will definitely be snapping it up.
