Jo Malone: Orange Blossom

Jo Malone Orange Blossom

I have owned many bottles of Jo Malone Orange Blossom over the years.  It is unsurprisingly in my top three fragrances from the brand.  Usually I buy the 30ml bottles which does not make economic sense as the 100ml is much better value. That said,  I’m a bit of a sucker for a smaller fragrance bottle and I often layer it.

This year however, I have indulged in the big daddy.  The 100ml bottle which I asked a friend of mine to pick up at duty free, which made it even better value. Part of the reason for the continued love affair with this fragrance is that is it so easy to wear.  Appropriate for both casual and formal occasions, and despite being called a cologne, it has pretty good longevity.  I wear this when I just want to smell good.  Not sexy, not pretty girl feminine, not strong (although of course I am all of those things), just good.  The white floral is not heady, it has decent but not huge sillage, and I find that it is non offensive, not in a bland way but this is not a marmite fragrance.  It does not  repulse those who don’t like it, they just don’t like it.  The clementine element of this fragrance is very fleeting on my skin.  This is very much a white floral, which I love with a creamy musky base and a slightly sweet almost honeysuckle note.

If you are looking to blend this one, it works well with citrus colognes whether they are lemon, bergamot or orange.  I also like it with green (pine/balsum) scents as it offsets the creaminess beautifully and some how makes the orange note that is normally quite fleeting stay a little longer.  If you like a white floral, Orange Blossom will probably be right up your street.
