Crowning Glory:Phyto – Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask

Another Phyto post…but this product has not been discontinued by  thank goodness.

PhytojobaI am not a huge fan of the co wash… I have locs so detangling is not an issue for me and my hair does not really respond better to co washing then using a shampoo, however, I have co washed and I used this product when I did.  Mainly I use this product if I am going to do a braidout / pipecleaner curls/flexirods or any style where I will leave my hair setting for 24 hours or more.  Because this conditioner is rich but light, the fact that I am not applying my usual lotions or potions is not a problem, my hair is still moisturised.Phytojoba 2

It is quite a thick cream so it needs to be warmed up in the hands before it is applied to the hair.  It can be left on for 5 – 15 minutes, but I often leave it on for longer than that.  After application I find that my hair is moisturised, but does not feel heavy and the fragrance is amazing.  Sweet orange oil is a winner for me.  it does not heavily perfume the hair but it is enjoyable whilst being used.  It is easily rinsed out with warm water and leaves the hair soft to the touch.

The jojoba oil is balanced by wheat proteins so I don’t need to do a protein treatment with this product. If I want to make this a more intense treatment, I mix it with some coconut  or avocado oil and it does not split.Phytojoba 3

The packaging is not as pretty as the PhytoLactum shampoo but the tub is sturdy and the 200ml goes a long way even with long locs.  The shelf life of this product is only six months, which is fine as I get through conditioner much quicker than shampoo.  Another winner from the Phyto range .
