Pucker Up: Intelligent Nutrients Lip Delivery Nutrition

Intelligent Nutrients

PatentPurpleLife Intelligent Nutrients Lip Balm

This is a brand that don’t just talk sustainability and corporate social responsibility, they actually do sustainable and corporate social responsibility.  I only have a lip balm from this range but I really am very impressed with it.  I have played with other products in the range, (cleanser, serum and I am desperate to try the PureLuxe hair care range).  I spend many hours pouring over the website.

‘Founder Horst Rechelbacher, donates all after-tax profits from the sale of IN products to environmental and social causes.’   Yes, you read that correctly!

So, the lipbalm.  I have had it for a couple of  months and despite the peppermint tingle I like it.  When I first got it I did not appreciate the peppermint tingle but as I have been using it the tingle has lessened significantly.  As you would expect, this balm is full of good ingredients that will not build up when you ingest it.  A beeswax and coconut oil base, this contains amongst other tings, sunflower seed oil, cranberry seed oil, castor seed oil, black cumin seed oil shea butter, nutmeg and three types of mint.  Yes three.  Even with three types of mint it is not as tingly as a Bare Minerals Buxom lip gloss which for me has an unbearable level of tingliness.

The packaging is functional  – the white tube is lists the accreditation of the product like people list their degrees on a business card.  Cruelty free, made from 100% Renewable Energy (yes really) certified organic in the US, and Intellimune.  This is Intelligent Nutrients proprietary blend of raspberry, cranberry, black cumin, pumpkin and grape seed oils which are powerful antioxidants.  I love the fact that the twisting element of the tube is at the top of the tube rather than the bottom.  It means that you can flick the lid off, and raise the bullet with one hand, which is more useful than you would think in the office.

The balm is a yellowish creamy colour and solid (even in this mini heatwave).  It smells minty but not like a polo mint, much more like a fresh mint tea tisane.  On the lips there is a slight minty smell, but this goes within five minutes.  It leaves the lips moisturised and nourished.  If you are prone to dry cracked lips this will definitely help (but if the lip has been bleeding, you may find the peppermint tingle is too much).  I also really like the fact that this is not a shiny balm. It does not leave the lips completely matt but it is not a lip gloss sheen so the mister is not averse to kissing me whilst I am wearing it and he can use it without immediately wiping it off.  It is also great under lipstick and if applied minimally, works well under lipglosses too.  If you are looking for a luxurious, girly high sheen product, this is not for you. But if you are not averse to peppermint and want a functional, nourishing lip balm, this could be a good option for you.
