The first product that I used from the Beautylish Lucky Bag was the It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara. Why because at the time, it cosmetics was not available in the UK (now available on QVC). When I first saw the packaging I thought it was a bit bulky. The padded rubberised tube seemed excessive but I soon got used to it. To be honest, this mascara is so good that I would forgive all manner of packaging tomfoolery.
Hello Lashes claims to prime, lengthen volumise and curl the lashes. It also contains a tint which is said to stay on the lashes after the product has been removed. Hello Lashes also has peptides in the formula to encourage lash growth. Hello Lashes is said to be a 5-in-1 mascara.
The first point of difference is the brush – it is a two parter. The ball on the end allows the wand lets you get into the inner and out cover – it is great on the lower lash line. You can use it vertically or horizontally. The straight part of the brush is great for getting right to the root of the lashes. The bristles are not too spiky so they don’t irritate your eyes.
Length is always my number one concern and it definitely does that. If you want to build up volume you can. The comb bristles mean that clumping is not an issue even if you apply three or four layers of product. The benefit of the ball is that you can apply more product in the middle of the lashes for a doll eyes effect, with the eyes looking rounder. For a more feline effect you can focus the ball detailer at the out edge of the lashes. I got some curl, but I would not say that I can ditch the eyelash curler.
Hello Lashes does not dry stiff and it is not the easiest mascara to remove. Use a dedicated eye make up remover rather than a micellar water. The formula is proper black but I cant say that it tints my lashes or that my lashes are longer as a result of using this product.
Hello Lashes really is an all round mascara. I really liked it and used it all up. I really recommend this mascara and fortunately you can get it in the UK now!
