Talon Tales: GOSH Frosted Nail Lacquers

GOSH Frosted Matte Nail Lacquer

Danish cosmetics company GOSH are stocked exclusively at Superdrug and for Spring/ Summer 2014 they are releasing a range of new products and new shades in existing products.

OPI, Barry M and Zoya all have lacquers within their ranges with a frosted or sand effect.  There are a total of five shades in the Frosted range but I am going to review two of them.

  • 05 Frosted Rose is a soft pinky brown with gold and silver particles.
  • 07 Frosted Soft Coral is an pinky apricot shade again with gold and silver particles.

GOSH Frosted Matte Nail Lac

The texture applies easily to the nails and it dries quickly to a matte finish.     The brush is perfect for the texture, flexible but not too broad so you have complete control during application.  You can apply one thicker coat or two thinner coats.I prefer the latter but you get full opaque coverage with both.  This look is flattering on both long and short nails and despite the matte glitter finish, they are not the most OTT glitter option in my nail collection.

I have worn both colours without my topcoat and I had 2 days wear before it started to wear away at the top.  I was pleased that it wore away rather than chipped as it was easy to top up.  Despite the fact that this is a matte product, I will be putting a layer of Seche Vite over the top to aid longevity and because it further highlights the glitter in the colours

As it is quite heavy on the glitter, you need to take your time removing it and you may find that an acetone varnish remover speeds up the process.

Frosted Soft Coral - without topcoat but lashings of cuticle oil!

Both shades were flattering on me but my preference was for the rose. I will be using both colours for ring finger manicures and will definitely use them on toes.
