Too Faced is a brand that I have not really investigated much but this Bulletproof 24hour eyeliner has made me look at the range with new eyes. It is a cream shadow in pencil form that comes with a sharpener so you can use it to line the eyes or use the smudger to blend it out. The concept is not a new one but Too Faced carry it out extremely well.
Purple Rain is a beautiful imperial purple shade with bright pink glitter particles. When you smudge it out the glitter spreads far. This applies whether you use the smudger or smudge it with your fingers. The smudger is quite porous as opposed to the silicone or plastic ones from other brand so it picks up colour and glitter which means that if you don’t have a very defined crease (as is the case with me) you can end up with glitter close to you brow. I prefer to apply the colour and use a blending brush to buff out the edges but often as my lids are heading rapidly towards being hooded, I leave the defined line of shadow and create a cut crease effect.
The shadow dries quite quickly so you need to move quickly if you are going to blend it. If you have sharpened the product to a point you can get a beautiful lower lash line application. Do be careful about smudging it though as the glitter particles are quite big and them might go into your eyes.
I do not subscribe to the glitter is only for teens philosophy. The glitter is less impactfull if you don’t smudge out the eyeliner and behind glasses the light bounces beautifully of the glitter which really draws light and attention to the eyes.
This product really is long wearing, put it on and go about your day. Twelve hours later it is still there so it is great for hay fever suffers (just don’t blend it out so the glitter says in place) and swelteringly hot days as it literally stays on your lids until you remove it.
I like the product but I do think that the packaging lets it down. It is housed in a light weight plastic and the sharpener and smudger are always separating from the rest of the packaging in my make up bag. The packaging takes away from the quality of the product and is the only thing that I would change about the product.
You can get Too Faced from Debenhams but their website also delivers to the UK which means you can get hold of their new releases as they happen. They have recently extended their liquid foundation range at both the palest and deepest ends of the spectrum so this is definitely and inclusive beauty brand to watch!
