Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation StickUntil now Hourglass’s hero products really have not catered for me.  The ambient powders are beautiful but too light.  I love their bronzer but I use it as a highlighter.   The Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick however is phenomenal   The Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is their latest launch.  It will be in Liberty on Monday 26th July and I am excited to say that it is available in 26 shades.   Stick foundations are my favourite format but what is more exciting is the fully inclusive shade range HUZZAHH!

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

The shades are available in six shade intensities, fair, light, light medium, medium, medium deep and deep.   Six shades intensities means more opportunities to find a shade the works for you.  The shades range from Blanc to Espresso.  If you are at the palest or deepest ends of the skin tone spectrum it is very likely that you will a shade or shades that work for you.

The foundation has a triangular shape which at first glance may seem like a gimmick but is actually a good thing.  The triangular shape lets you get right under the eye and round the nose as you would with a doe foot concealer.

Hourglass Vanish Foundation

The Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick has a very high concentration of pigment in the formula.  This means that you can use it as a concealer and and foundation.  My acne scars, dark circles and hyper-pigmentation are covered in one swipe.  Hourglass released a dense brush to buff this product in.  I don’t have it, but found that my Nanshy buffer brush and Marc Jacobs III foundation brush worked perfectly.  You could use beauty blender type sponge, or your fingers, but I found the finish with the brush was flawless.

Hourglass Vanish Foundation

The foundation blends like a dream and a little bit goes a very long way.  This product is giving my beloved Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick some stiff competition. I have been testing Espresso (the deepest shade) and Walnut.  Espresso is deeper than my skin tone and Walnut is lighter.  Blended together they create the most perfect, most natural gentle contour and highlight. It does not look like I am contouring and highlighting, it just looks like skin.  Hourglass claim that the foundation adjusts to your body temperature to blend into the skin seamlessly.  I think to a certain extent all cream foundations do that, but finish really is beautiful.  The finish truly lasts all day even with some of your other makes up has disappeared off your face.

Hourglass Vanish Foundation WoC Swatches

Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick seems to transfer less then other stick foundations that I own.  There is still some transfer, but I seem to be leaving fewer brown finger prints on reports in my office than usual.  Setting this product with a powder will help to prevent transfer but the finish is so lovely I’ve been wearing it without.

I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION.  Hourglass really did a great job on this product.  If you love a stick foundation – you need it. If you are looking for a two in one concealer and foundation, you need to try it.

The Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick is available from Liberty and other authorised stockists. It retails for £42.
