Project Pan 2020: #teamprojectpan2020

Welcome to my Project Pan 2020 project. Project Pan videos are some of my most watched content on YouTube. I love seeing used products. Is that weird? Anyway with all the new year new decade new start good intentions that surround us at this time of the year I feel like it is the perfect opportunity to start a 20 in 2020 #teamprojectpan2020 project. I am giving myself literally a whole year to finish these products. This is also a rolling project pan which means that I will be bringing new items into the project as things finish. Finally, because I watch a lot of YouTube panning videos, I know the importance of adding a few easy to finish items to keep your morale up.

So invested am I in this project that I spent days (literally) looking for a scale with two decimal point gradation. I ended up getting it from Amazon which was not the original plan… but that is another story. As a result, all items will be weighted, no measuring or marking products and I will be providing monthly updates here on the blog with some occasional mentions on Instagram.

Aromatherapy Associates Minature Bath and Shower Oil Collection

I am more of a shower person then a bath person in the week. However at the weekend, when I have more time, a bath is always a pleasure. Although  these are bath and shower oils, I prefer to use them in the bath, so the idea with this one is to use one a week for the next two and a half months. GOAL – use all the oils.

Atelier Cologne – Musc Impérial (78.07g)

Atelier Cologne is a brand  that is very collectable. I used to work near the Covent Garden boutique so it is no surprise that I have quite a collection from this brand. I really enjoy Musc Imperial, but the reason I am panning it is because I was gifted Narcisco Rodriguez Fleur Musc for Her for Christmas by a very dear friend. So as musk has recently entered my fragrance collection, it is fitting for this one to leave it.  GOAL – finish the bottle.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar – Velvet Orchid (13.64g)

Definitely the oldest product in the project, I reviewed in 2013 this product and it has been my favourite eyeshadow stick formula for since that time.  Sadly, By Terry decided to discontinue this shade and after seven years, it is definitely time for me to declutter it.  There is not much left, but a little goes a long way.  GOAL – use it up.

Tan Flash Cruise By Terry
By Terry Sun Designer Palette

By Terry Sun Designer Palette – Tan and Flash Cruise Palette (111.79g)

I reviewed this palette (and did a giveaway) nearly four years ago.  I have used it intermittently and spent the last few months of 2019 using it a bit more regularly, but there is still PLENTY of product to use.  The face powder side I use under my eyes to set concealer with the exception of the lightest shade. The blush side I use all three shades.  GOAL – use more of the two deeper shades of face powder.  Hit significant pan on all three blush shades

Carron Cosmetics Loose Powder (58.34g)

I will also have a soft spot for Carron Cosmetics. The founder Carron sadly passed away in 2018 just as the brand was gaining some traction on social media. I always try to brands created by women of colour and Carron Cosmetics is a good one. I was fortunate to be sent some items for review following a purchase and I enjoyed all of them. I have had the powder in my collection for a couple of years and it is a fitting tribute to Carron that I use the product and feature it regularly in my small purple corner of the internet. Goal – use it up.

Charlotte Tilbury – Matte Revolution Lipstick in Birkin Brown (25.05g)

Blimin heck this lipstick is five years old!  Back when I was attempting to do YouTube (dont laugh) this was one of the products that I did a live swatch of.  There is nothing wrong with it … but these days I prefer my neutral / nude lip shades in a glossy formula.  GOAL – use it up.

Cover FX Correct Click Undereye Circles – Brick Red (10.17g)

Cover FX is one of my favourite complexion brands so I am still very distressed that they left Harvey Nichols last year. Yes, I know that they are available in Space NK but the range there is super limited. Anyway, this is the colour corrector that I use on my chin, when I am doing full face glam.  I have used it on and off for a couple of years but it is time for it to come out of my collection.  GOAL – Use it up.

Danessa Myricks

Danessa Myricks – Eye and Lip Makeup Remover (68.11g)

I am a huge fan of Danessa’s artistry as well as her range of products. I love her all the more for having the expiry date on this product. The Eye and Lip makeup remover has been in my stash for probably a year. Whilst doing a bit of a makeup inventory I saw that it was about to expire… so I have added it to the project. I wear makeup five days a week so I don’t doubt that I will be able to use it up before the expiry date. GOAL – use as much as possible before the expiry date.

Delilah

Delilah Pure Light Liquid Radiance – Halo (149.39g)

This product has been in my stash for a while, but I only opened it at the end of last year. I am not big on liquid highlighter and as this 30ml of product and I am using less then half a pump at a time, I figure this will be in the project for the whole of 2020. GOAL – use it consistently (not necessarily every day) till the end of the year, at which point I will declutter it.

DHC Lip Cream (13.72g)

I have watched enough Project Pan videos to know that in any extended project, it is important to have some products that are easy to work through and this is one of them.  I really like this lip balm and would absolutely buy it again… if I did not have lots of other lip balms in my collection.  GOAL – use it up.

Dior Highlighter
Dior Illuminating Pressed Powder

Dior State of Gold Illuminating Pressed Powder – Sumptuous Pink (106.32g)

I love this highlighter but had put it to the back of my beauty stash because it is very fragile.  All was going well with it until I dropped it and the powder shattered.  I re-pressed it, cos, well Dior is spendy, but it was never the same in the pan, on the skin yes, but in the pan it is very softly pressed so I have to be very gentle with it. I have made a bit dent in it but I still reckon it is going to take me a year to get through the product.  GOAL – hit pan … and then we will see.

Project Pan
Danessa Myricks, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, Delilah, Cover FX, Victoria Beckham, Aromatherapy Associates

Kat Von D Everlasting Liqud Lipstick – Roxy (14.93g)

I love this shade of purple.  I like the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula.  To be clear, I am not a fan of Kat Von D’s views or actions.  By including this item in my project, I am not endorsing or promoting Kat Von D or her views.  GOAL – use it up.

Kiko Super Colour Liner

Kiko Super Colour Eyeliner – 110 (8.37g)

Another discontinued product in my collection the purple sparkly liner is applied with a lovely felt tip applicator.  This has been in my collection for too long, but I really like it so it is in… until it dries out.  GOAL – use it up.

Project Pan
MAC Glamourize Me Eyeshadow Palette

MAC Diane Kendall – Glamorize Me Eyeshadow Palette (72.19g)

I wrote an effusive review on this palette three years ago and I stand by what I said then. Cream eyeshadow are not the easiest thing to like but the formula and shades are excellent.  But it is a cream product and I have had it for three years so I need to use it up.  GOAL – hit pan on every shade.

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick – Black (9.78g)

Love this product, and I have been using it regularly for months, but as it is placed on my eyes I feel like I should use it up. I don’t have many liquid eyeliners in my collection so I am happy to take my time with it. GOAL – use it till it dries up

Project Pan
Natasha Denona Slate Eyeshadow

Natasha Denona Metallic Eyeshadow  – Slate #27M (12.34g)

I tried to clean up the eyeshadow to make it look pretty for the pictures but it would not happen.  The formula is fragile.  The colour is lovely but not what I would describe as slate.  In my world slate is grey but in Natasha’s universe it is purple which is not a problem for me. I have lots of purple eyeshadows but this is the one that is in the worst state, so I will use it as much as possible over the coming year before decluttering it.  GOAL – hit pan.

Sephora Full Action Mascara

Sephora Full Action Mascara – Purple (27.44g)

As there is no Sephora in the UK, I obviously bought this overseas.  I love purple mascara (obvs) but even for me, it is a bit much for every day. For this project, I am going to focus on using it on my lower lash line.  This formula is not my favourite for lengthening my lashes, although it does deposit a good amount of colour. GOAL – use the mascara for 6 months subject to it not drying up.

Tom Ford Boys and Girls – Theo (22.09g)

Tom Ford lipsticks are notorious for going from their delicious vanilla scent to an unpleasant Playdoh scent in a very short space of time, which considering the cost of the lipsticks  adds to the outrage.  The Lips and Boys range first launched in 2016 and I bought four of them.  Theo is not my favourite from the four that I bought but it is a good purple shade and I reckon it wont take too long to get through it.  GOAL – use it up.

Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation – 80CG (94.16g)

This foundation is the most recently acquired beauty product that I have added to my collection. As you know I bought the Pat McGrath foundation last summer and I really like it. Mother Pat’s foundation has a fair bit of luminosity so I have added the Stay Naked Foundation to the project as it mixes really well with the Delilah liquid highlighter.  GOAL – Finish the bottle.

Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Eye Palette

Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Eye Palette (157.85g)

Another product that has been in my collection since 2016. The VB x Estee Lauder collection was ‘the thing’ when it launched and the packaging is still some of my favourite of all time. However, as you know I am now a Pat McGrath stan. Not only because I LURVE the products but supporting a black British female’s brand is important to me. The VB x Estee Lauder colours don’t have the oomph of Pat’s shades but this is still a good palette in its own right.  GOAL – hit pan on every shade.

Cover FX Colour Corrector, DHC Lip Cream, Charlotte Tilbury Birkin Brown, Tom Ford Theo

So there you have it. the introduction to my 2020 project pan project. Is there as much purple in the project as you had anticipated? Do you think I will get through everything? Are you doing a project pan project this year? If you are let me know and we can keep each other motivated.
