If you love a matte foundation – keep reading. The Feather Finish Matte Foundation from Be Creative is an affordable option. The most exciting thing (from my perspective) about this foundation is the shade range. Ten shades from fair to rich. The Feather Finish Matte Foundation is the only inclusive foundation range that the brand has Be Creative Makeup hence my review. If you live in continental Europe you are probably familiar with Be Creative Makeup. If you are based in the UK, you may not be so here is a bit of background.
Be Creative Makeup is an affordable French Pro Makeup Brand. If NYX were Parisian it would be Be Creative Makeup. The range has different textures of foundations, primers, powders eye lip and cheek products. There are also a range of tools and accessories. The colour spectrum of the brand is quite conservative with a small c. You wont find grey lipstick or duo chrome pigments but if you based in continental Europe this brand is worth looking at.
The texture of the Feather Finish Matte Foundation is really light, almost like a tinted moisturiser. On the skin it provides a matte finish but it does not give an overly powdered or dry looking finish. It is perfect for my oily combination skin. I found that I stayed pretty matte for the day, some sebum started to come through around my nose and chin after about 6 hours but it looked dewy rather than greasy on the skin. If you use a very emollient moisturiser or primer, I’d suggest waiting a few minutes before applying if you want a truly matte finish. If you have a drier skin type, you could add a drop of oil to the foundation to give a more dewy finish. It is medium coverage, but buildable.
I like to use a stippling brush for lighter coverage and a more dense buffing brush if I want more of a cake face. It has a very very subtle sweet floral fragrance but it does not last on the skin. It dries quite quickly so you need to work quite fast and it does not leave the skin tacky. The packaging for this is brilliant. A tube with a pump which is both convenient to travel with and easy to dispense. The black plastic with white writing is simple, and for a brown skinned beauty like me, it means that if I pick up the tube with foundation on my hands, I’m not leaving noticeable brown stains on the tube.
The Be Creative Feather Finish Matte Foundation costs 16 euros which at the current exchange rate is about 15 pounds for 30ml of product. This makes is a little more expensive than a foundation that you might find at Superdrug or Boots. The great thing about Be Creative is that they have a fully inclusive shade range. HURRAH. Brown Beauties in France, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland can access the stores or purchase this range online.
