MacPro is a pro brand that I pick up at Imats. The first time I went I picked up the mandy gold palette which I loved. It was a pro product so it took a while to get used to it but the finish on the skin was truly flawless.
Last IMATS I attended the MaqPro stall was smaller but had an array of products that I had not seen before at PAM or Guru Make Up Emporium – colour products.
I headed straight for the liipsticks and to my great pleasure there was shade 2007A – the most perfect purple lipstick shade. The packing is uninspiring but functional with minimal branding or pizazz. If you want packaging bells and whistles, look to Marc Jacobs or YSL. If you are all about the colour either as a consumer or an MUA this is the brand for you.
This colour is a deep aubergine. The texture is demi matte. Yes, I know that is a term usually reserved for complexion products but bear with me. When you put it on you think it is matte, it glides on their is a stiffness to it. It does not tug at the lips but is not as smooth as a standard lipstick. Once on the lips however there is a slight sheen. when you mush your lips together the product moves, your lips doont stick together.
On the bottom lip I need to do an extra swipe to make the colour even on both lips. The colour has staying power but does not stain the lips as much as other colours that I have.
I love this colour and the price if I remember correctly was under £10 – so worth it. Of course MaqPro lip colours are not the easiest to get hold of even in London but ifyou are at IMATs or find yourself in Paris, you defnintely need to pick up
