Trufflesque is part of the Truffle skincare range from the brand which includes the award winning skin truffle moisturiser. I was lucky to attend the launch in July so I have been using it for over a month with great results. This masque is packed with clinically proven ingredients which give an intense and instant boost to the skin. If you enjoy hi tech skincare this is a product to try. The active ingredients are a mixture of botanicals precious metals and gemstones with skincare technology. The mask is multi functional providing radiance, hydration, firming and mild exfoliation.
Trufflesque is jam packed with gold particles which not only illuminates the skin, it is also a powerful antioxidant. Keeping with the radiance theme, diamond powder provides a soft focus to textural skin imperfections. There is also mica and silica in the pot – ingredients that you would find in your favourite highlighting powder as well as black truffle for even more glow. For hydration there is hyaluronic acid and honey. For toning and tightening there is marine and strawberry extract. The list of ingredients got me excited before I even put the product on my face!
This is a mask to take your time with. You apply it with a brush over the face and neck. It does not tingle or tighten and it does not set hard, so I can’t put my glasses back on . The gold colour in the pot is the gold colour that you get on the skin. Every time I use it I find myself humming Goldfinger – the gold is intense. After 15 minutes, massage the face for a couple of minutes and leave for a further few minutes before removing with a flannel. When you remove Trufflesque your skin is clean and hydrated as you would expect. The exfoliating action leaves my skin smooth but not taut or sore. My pores are minimised and my nose stud sparkles when when I first bought it. The best part of this is definitely the radiance. It is quite distinct from the usual hydration glow that I get when I mask. This is my skin a decade ago glow. I can really see the tightening effect on the cheeks, especially when I take the product down my neck. This mask is gorgeous and does not leave any gold particles on the skin.
I can definitely see why you might want to keep this as a ‘special occasion’ mask but I love having this as my once a week treat. At some point on a Sunday you will find me doing my best Shirley Bassey Goldfinger impression so that I can head into the week looking fresh faced. This mask is suitable for all skin types but an older skin will see more of the benefits. If you have alot of breakouts you probably won’t want to massage the skin and if you are very sensitive, you should definitely do a patch test first.
My usual three mask pamper routine now happens on a Wednesday because my Sundays are all about the glow. Trufflesque is available from Temple Spa’s website and authorised stockists. It retails for £50
