Even before I started my blog, my friends would give me beauty items that came free with magazines that they had purchased. Before the blog, I would get around to using these items pretty quickly. Now that I have a blog, I have amassed a ginormous stash of products.
So, better late then never…Benefit’s Dandelion Ultra Plush lip Gloss was I believe free with the December 2013 edition of Elle. (it would have been in newsagents in November.)
Benefit describe this colour as a soft pearly pink, but I on me, there is a definite coral tone to it. The pearl effect that runs through the product is an iridescence rather then shimmer or glitter. The texture is very nice. It is not tacky, it is very smooth. On my lips, there is no colour – not even a Dulux hint of colour and the pearliness is super subtle. It smells sweet – synthetic sweet but this wears off quite quickly. Admittedly, I have a sample but the applicator is the same. The custom tip is curved rather then straight as most other lipgloss applicators are. It does not significantly benefit (geddit) the application in my opinion.
The texture is great but overall this is an underwhelming product for me…that said the teenage girl in my life LOVES it).
