London Fashion Week is over. I really enjoy clothes but I am short and round so I am looking for style over trend in my clothes. During London Fashion Week the bloggersphere is bombarded with images of women and men wearing clothes that range from awe inspiring to… well not. I generally however look at the faces and the makeup – that is much more interesting to me.
Being September, London Fashion Week is debuting trends for Spring Summer 2016. Looking back to February one of the key trends was a variation on the purple, plum, aubergine, deep, vampy gothic theme. It seems to always pops up for autumn – being a purple fanatic, this is my favourite time of year.
I know that not everyone loves purple as much as I do but this Heathered Plum duo from Elizabeth Arden is beautiful way to get the trend look in a really accessible way. This eyeshadow duo is one matte and one satin shade. The satin shade is a warm rose/pink/mauve shade – very wearable on every skintone. The matte tone is a deep reddened aubergine shade and has the best matte shadow texture that I have seen recently. It is velvety soft, and very blendable both as a transition colour and to smoke out under the eye. The two shades are complimentary and you can play with the tones by adding a coloured eyeshadow base to play up the warm or cool tones to your preference. I would recommend using an eyeshadow base, especially with the satin shade if you are prone to greasy lids.
If you are a fan of purple like me, you will love this as an everyday duo. If you are normally a brown and taupes person, you will find this really wearable as the tones are warm Another impressive option from Arden and a great way to stay on autumnal plum/purple trend.
Heathered Plums is available from Debenhams and authorised stockists for £23.00
