Dr Sebagh – Supreme Day Cream Moisturiser

Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream

Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream

I have been using the Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream moisturiser every single day for more than six weeks.  I’ve not got bored with it, I’ve not fancied a change, I’ve just used it consistently.  Every morning.  I love an extensive skincare regime and I am generally incorporate lots of steps.  No matter what I place this on top of my skin remains hydrated during the day.  Dr Sebagh is qualified in cosmetic surgery but gave up his practise fifteen years ago. Since then he has been focused on ‘ageing maintenance’ which is a range of non invasive treatments including botox.  If needles are not your thing however, he has a high specification skincare range of which the Supreme Day Cream is the latest release.

I have used the Supreme Day Cream straight over toner on good skin days and early morning starts.  Over a hyaluronic acid which has a gel formula, over  facial oils, over serum.  This moisturiser is rich but not heavy so it does not make me greasy.  I love a rich face cream but I have combination skin so I don’t want to be a grease ball by midday.  Supreme Day Cream does not do that and yet with the change from warm to cool, to cooler weather, this moisturiser has held up well.

What is special about this moisturiser?  The technology behind it.  It contains fractionated melanin.  Melanin is the pigment that is found in the skin which protects the skin from sun damage.  Fractionated melanin is a synthesized product which protects the skin from High Energy  Visible Light (HEVL).  I am exposed to large amount of high energy visible light as I have an office based job where I write reports on a desktop with a large screen. I spend a lot of time on my phone and then I write a blog on my laptop. These are all sources that expose my skin to HEVL.

The light from your electronic devises include your TV, tablet and music player is likely to be this form of blue light.  High Energy Visible Light is light from the violet / blue end of the spectrum.  The effect of HEVL on the skin is still being researched.  What is known is that it does not cause immediate irritation to the skin.  Research shows that HEVL damages the skin by causing photo ageing and in some cases it has been suggest in some studies that there is a link to the development of cancerous cells.

Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream

This product contains fractionated melanin which works at the violet/blue end of the spectrum.  To be completely protected from HEVL, UVA and UVB, it is necessary to use a sunscreen over the top.  There are light SPF formulations on the market that can be applied over the Supreme Day Cream.  If you are having a day when you are working from home, not leaving the house but are being bombarded by HEVL from the TV, laptop, phone you need this.

Dr Sebagh Supreme Day Cream

Even without the fractionated melanin, this is a moisturiser worth having.  Filled hyaluronic acid shea butter, watermelon fruit extract, lentil and sesame extracts which have hydrating and or anti oxidant properties.  The cream is pink in colour and has a pleasant light floral fragrance.  It is slightly cool on the skin which is a sensation I enjoy. It absorbs quickly without leaving the skin greasy or tacky to the touch. If you are a fan of a primer continue to use one.  The effect on the skin is not going to be immediately visible in terms of protecting against HEVL,  That said, your SPF does not give you an immediate effect either.  This is a moisturiser for people who really want to invest in good skincare and who know that they are bombarded by HEVL.. ie me!

The Supreme Day Cream retails for £145 and is available from the Dr Sebagh Website, Selfridges and other authorised stockists.
