Lipstick Queen: Envy

Lipstick Queen Envy

I am not a gloss person.  I’m not.  I like a lipstick, be it matte or moisturising it is my preferred formula… however… there are always exceptions to the rule.

Lipstick Queen Envy

When I saw that Poppy from Lipstick Queen had a new collection out – Seven Deadly Sins, my interest was piqued but when I saw Envy, (purple obvs) I knew I had to have it.   The packaging is glorious.  Beautiful images that represent the sin are on each box.  Inside the tactile black rubber lid means that you are not struggling to open the lid.

The Lipstick Queen Envy formula of this is mint free HURRAH!!! Whilst there is a shine to the lips but this is not a vinyl lip gloss and there is no sticky.  It feels more like a lip balm than a gloss on the lips and the formula contains beeswax, shea butter, vitamin E and  cranberry seed oil which is rich in omegas three and six.

These are not the most pigmented lip gloss which for me with two different coloured lips makes application interesting.   My top lip is all one colour and pigmented so Envy provides a beautiful sheen which is discernibly purple. My bottom lip however is pink and the sheerness of Envy means that my lip still looks pink after application.  It is a bit disappointing, however, every cloud has a silver lining.  This gloss is perfect over lip pencils.  You get the opacity of the pencil but Envy counteracts the dryness.  This means I can create my perfect lip shade which is both long lasting and easy to wear.  I have worn  it with lots of combos. I love it over Stella from Lipstick Queen, as it takes away some of the neon element but my favourite combo is over Cyber lip pencil from MAC.

Lipstick Queen Envy

It creates the most gorgeous vampy sexy aubergine lip colour which is opaque on both of my lips and perfect for Autumn Winter.

Envy is available from Space NK and retails for £22.00
